I was SO not feeling like shooting myself this weekend. No ideas what so ever.
After a successful shopping day yesterday, I thought I could do a shoot something along those lines... but decided they would look best on a white seamless(or whatever you call it), and since I don't have a background like that, it would've meant a bit of photoshopping. Because at the moment I would rather draw/sketch etc. I didn't want to spend a whole lotta time photoshopping.(Weird for me, I know)

So I went outside - despite the rain and cold. I'm fairly happy with them......I think? Not sure how I feel about the sepia ones(to dark?), but then nearing the end(when I was frozen and done) I was like, "I should've gotten out the flash". So I did. Used flash on the B&W ones.
As usual, tear them apart. On whatever! Please share opinions, thoughts, CC and all that cool jazz.

I'm now off to get my hands dirty and make beautiful things.
thanks for looking,
-Alex

Looks good Alex. We ended up so far with Snow, Rain/sleet and thunderstorms.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

yuck. Thankfully we just got rain. About an hour after I finished we got a nice little storm. Signs of spring I think... ha.

Sepia shots not really doing much for me, maybe if it were dialed back a touch?

love the expression and pose in the 4th and 5th is probably my favorite.

do you shoot in RAW at all?

I wondered if it was a bit much once I did the B&W ones. haha.

I shot all of them in RAW. Still learning the best way to PP. lol.
thanks for the CC!

I think the the third photo is the best of the set. It has the best, natural looking expression..almost a dear-lord-what-am-i-doing-outside-in-this-supposed-midwest-spring look to it. I like the pose better, it has the best head positioning (not tilted to one side/up/down) and i like the partial cropping of the umbrella. An excellent shot for a self portrait!

As far as that last B&W photos, thought i'd point out quick that those jeans don't work well for this specific PP just because the seams pop out more (especially the inner seam) with the subdued jean coloring. Perhaps adjusting the blue levels will help this?

Thanks for the CC! I think I struggle the most with composing and "modeling". Since I'm never 100% sure what it looks like in the view finder. lol.

I agree on the jeans. They look a bit...off? or something, but couldn't put my finger on it. I'll play around with them. Thanks!
