A few months ago, my mentor referred to me one of his friends as their wedding photographer. We met. We talked. We got along really well. Unfortunately, another couple were interested in the same date and had beat them to the save-the-date retainer.

I felt gutted. Both couples were awesome. So I approached David and tried to sell the idea of doing a beloved! together. He was overjoyed. And after a flurry of emails, a date was set to do my first beloved!

A teaser from yesterday's session. The problem with all-day shoots is dealing with light. I'm going to have to invest in a scrim. And think of more places that have shaded areas.

It rained. Heavily at times. And it was pretty windy all day. But just when despair set in, the clouds parted long enough to get a last epic sun set. #winning!

Comment away.

Cheers,
Dan

Hehe. He's a soccer player. Crotch-shot is very appropriate lol.

Narh. It was aimed at Candy's feet (so her face would be OOF). Then they took a step forward, so the focal plane got muddled. I tend to do sequences for my tilted work.

Shame that in #4, the lawnmower dude was so inconsiderate to us photographers!

Oooo. I made the mistake of asking for 'powdered chalk' at the art & craft store. Luckily, my clients were much smarter than I, and asked for 'powdered paint', or something along those lines.

Concept was not mine. I've seen it extremely well executed by another Australia photographer.

Apparently, it takes a bit of effort to wash off! Since it is paint that is intended to be mixed with water. LOL. Poor David had to scrub his face off after the punishment he got from Candy.

God no. Surely he isn't the person who invented the word 'beloved'!
