As already mentioned I shot a mate's daughter's 21st. I had a big-arse camera, a big arse lens and was swiveling the head of the flash all over the place. So I had to be a pro, right?

Damn straight :p

Agreed. I'm beginning to understand that just because I have a fast lens, going for the fastest isn't always good. Until I understand f4, f11, f22, I won't really understand f 2.8 or f1.4?

I'm a beginner.

Hey Dan........

Things are *cough* "different" around here lately .........

But apart from that...............

Can anyone recommend some training that I could be doing in Melbourne ?

I'll be there for around six weeks from 2nd May.

Specifically looking for (weekend) workshops on either fashion / portrait photograpy, or Lightroom / PS Training.

Cheers,

Austen.

For those not following the story ...........

Girl-Child got married last Saturday. and I was never going to take my 40D and lenses to her wedding !!

On the morning of her wedding the bridesmaids sent me to the local Westfield to get them some last-minute supplies, heel-pads, Red Bull, Power Bars and the like.

While I was there I decided to get a S95 camera for the wedding.....

Got back home, threw the battery in the charger and a couple of hours later went to the wedding !!

I still haven't read the manual yet and Mrs A and I are in Sydney for a few days R & R.

But yesterday I **DID** figure out a few things ...............

1) The ISO was "stuck" on 1250
2) How to change the ISO :)
3) Further shots need not be at ISO 1250 !!
4) That Adobes Digital Negative Converter can change the format from the CS3 / 4 unreadable CR2 to a readable .DNG format

Obligatory "Sydney Tourist" tax @ ISO 1250, SOOC except resized.........

Austen.
