Speaking of ND grads, where in Welly or (better) the Porirua area might one go to acquire one?

Geoff
All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

In general you can find grads wandering down Lambton Quay in March, but you're a bit late for the parade. You'll probably find them hanging out in coffee shops and malls.

No ND/grad, bracketed shots and photomatix...

I've just ordered a largeish set of hitech filters from http://www.teamworkphoto.com (external link)

Hopefully better than my cokin & knockoff ones.

Top buy!
I use Lee holder, with Hitech filters.
Bought three times from Team Work Photo.
And great that they ship to NZ. I lost a holder and a couple of filters out a helicopter two years ago whilst shooting north-east beaches

Great pic Rob!

And Tim, I see the D700 is still going strongly for you. Any experience with their service team yet?

How are things? Keeping busy I hope.

Nothing exciting photographically from me, will be going along to the Red Bull Trolley Derby tomorrow which should be a laugh.

EDIT: Have taken the odd photo, builder making a mess in my house again!

Hi guys!

Just back from a week in Otago (mainly drinking wine) but the clear blue skies did draw out the camera on occasion...

Some lovely Photos there.

I bought a 7D yesterday. Looks like a very nice camera.
Now to see how it performs.
First BMX race of the season tomorrow

Take the time to play with the various focus settings. Took me a while for me to adjust to the 7d (was stepping up from the 450D) for normal photos. My birds in flight in focus percentage came way up immediately though.

Soo much customisation on the 7D, I havnt got that far with that yet.
I've set back button AF only
DOF preview to AI servo
created a my menu
remapped the AF mode select to spirit level tho that may change back.
(remember two af modes need enabling in the cfn).

I have to set up some custom settins soon.

Well, I did get to the trolley derby but quite late, no reasonable spots left and we didn't hang around very long.
