Gardening in our house is probably a bi-annual event. We've always got something else we'd rather be doing but today with the beautiful warm weather we've been having, my wife was keen to get out in the garden and give it a tidy up. It seems like whenever we go out there and start digging up the soil we have the pleasure of the company of two Robins. They slowly build up confidence until we've been out there for about an hour and then they are happy to land within a couple of feet from us. Usually I've never got the camera (and long enough lens) to hand but this time my wife suggested that I sit out there and wait for them. Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long before I caught these three shots. Bird photography isn't usually my thing and I don't have a long enough lens for it but these came out ok considering.

Taken with my 70-200L f/4 lens and 1.4 extender. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. The little Robin is hoping about again today in my garden. My only worry is how dangerously close it's getting to my cat which kills everything it can catch.

Thanks very much. The avatar is a cropped version of one of my Adder shots on my wildlife photography website. I've got it as a background on my phone too! lol
