Hello All,

I am ready to finally upgrade my very well used 40D to a 7D. My timing couldn't be worse as I missed the $200 rebate! To add insult to injury, the Canon 7D Body Only is now back ordered from the manufacture so no one seems to have it.

I usually buy my stuff from B&H, but was desperately shopping around with places like SAMS, Dell, and Amazon. Adorama, Abes, etc... no one has it in stock!

I came accross Ritzcamera.com this morning and saw they show they have it in stock. I asked the rep via online chat and he assured me they had it in stock and if I would placed the order through him NOW, he would make sure it gets shipped asap and will also throw in free 2 days shipping. So the old saying if it's too good to be true... came to my head as I thought about it a bit more. I decided to look up Ritzcamera.com through resellersrating.com and what do you know... Ritzcamera.com had one of the absolute worse ratings. Everyone and their mothers were complaining about bad services and how they were lied to on items being in stock and such.

Does anyone here know of somewhere that is reputable that actually has the Canon 7D Body Only in stock?

Roberts is great, I am fortunate (unfortunate for my wallet) enough that their two physical stores are nearby. You can also try calling them, I know they also generally have the kits but their website may not show it. Everything Canon is just going to be more expensive and hard to find for a while.

With the Canon Loyalty Program, you can only get a refurbished version? That's what it seems like to me.

Yep at about $600 off retail! Mine came in with 70 shutter actuations and otherwise indistinquishable from brand new. I get 90 day warranty instead of one year...

How hard is it to break one? Usually that happens when you need it the most on its own.

I snagged one this morning off the Canon loyalty program---when I started the order she said they had 9 in stock----when we were done it was down to 3 and mine made it down to 2---in just 5 minutes or so on the phone.

Then this afternoon I saw them for 299.99 on EBAY----has scam written all over it but we will see.

Its this item here:

That ebay link appears to be legit as it is done by Digital Rev...which is a legit store in Hong Kong who also happens to post pretty entertaining Youtube videos. Has anyone ever snagged one of these deals from them? That is a ridiculous price if it is real.

Also, to OP, keep an eye on the sell forum here on POTN. I bought my 7D on there used - it was 1 month old, came with receipt and everything and was significantly cheaper than retail. Just make sure you buy from a person with lots of positive forum feedback and preferably with many postings.
