Simon, I've been following your discussion, hope the seller has really shipped you the lens. Best wishes.

Hmm... I was always given the impression that it was the other way around- that Paypal gave the seller hell by holding the funds and the seller would have to file in ID, show proof of delivery, etc.

Not in my case. Paypal would not even look at my emails from the seller. The seller did have a tracking number that showed delivery, but it was not even to my zip code. The Paypal rep said that any delivery to anywhere in AZ was good enough for them.

I was told by paypal the delivery information had to be the same zip code (or city) as stated in the shipping details. If you didn't get it, that's when you proceed to a CC claim. They'll require more proof of delivery (an actual tracking slip showing an actual address).

Under $250 requires online delivery confirmation showing the city/zip code attached to the payment. Over $250 requires the same with signature.

As to emails, AFAIK PayPal only gets into emails for private transactions where the complaint is SNAD.

Good luck, Paypal can be a handful to deal with sometimes but I hope you get your money back or the item!

I'm possibly dealing with a similar situation on a much grander scale. Has me worried sick. Good luck.

I've taken all forms of communication to paypal's resolution center. Still no camera, tracking numbers are still waiting for the package, escalating to a claim this Sunday (1 week from when I received the shipping confirmation)

There is no way priority mail would be so late. Nothing has been shipped.

My comment above wasnt directed at the OP (& Im sorry for derailing this thread) it was just an observation that Ive made, and was curious as to what other opinions were on the matter.....

btw any update on the sale? Beside leaving him some very negative feedback, I dont think its out of line to post his info up to stop others from getting scammed

Actually, it's against forum rules.

Hmm, I just read through the "Marketplace Rules" and only saw rules about POTN having no responsibility for transactions, nothing about not posting up a Scammers name.....

Posting negative transaction and naming the other member doesn't go over well here. You're supposed to notify admin if another member pulls a scam. It's been rehashed to death.
