Soooo I have run into a bit of a problem. I'm working on my watermark in CS5, and I want to save it as a .png. I've been able to save as .png before in cs5, but when I went to go save this file, the .png option didn't even come up.

Uhm....I have no idea what to do, or what even happened! Please help.

Do you have layers? You might have to flatten the image or merge layers. I know that jpegs won't come up as an option if you have multiple layers. Probably the same for png as they are meant to replace gifs.

You will have to convert the image from 16 bits to 8 bits -- this is in the Image/Mode menu.

Of course jpg will come up as an option when you have mulitple layers. Photoshop will flatten the image for you upon saving. See image below.

I would check your color mode. CS5 will only save a png in RGB mode. As long as you are in that color space you should be able to save it, even if you are in 16 bit mode. I created a file and ran through each color mode to verify this.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

You....are a life saver! I changed it to RGB. It was on CMYK....noooo idea why or how. I don't really mess with the color mode. But whatever, this is nice to know incase it happens again. Thanks a lot!
