Happen to come across a guy selling a 2XII. I have a 70 200L ef2.8 II and was wondering if it would be better to just buy the 2XIII instead. I'm not really sure if there would be a big diffrence? The cost factor on the lens used is around 175.00 US I heard the extender with my lens combination makes for a good telephoto lens. Thank you in advance

the III is supposed to give better autofocus on the new lenses + its supposed to have slightly better sharpness

from what i have read people seem to think its slightly better, once the new 500,600 mm lenses come out I suspect that will be the real test

I dont use my 2x enough to justify the upgrade but I plan to buy the 1.4 III to compare it vs my II before i decide

Would still like to get more feed back, but I did end up buying it so I should know soon enough. One of the caps that go on the camera side doesn't fot so I have to find a cover.

I absolutely love the 70-200 + 2xIII combo, the autofocus is very quick, and the picture quality is right on the money. Have a look at these (external link) track shots to see the combo in action.

I wound up buying the lens, its a Canon Ef 2XII and was in great shape. The lens to body cap didn't fit. That was all I really seen wrong with it. I paid $180.00 so I don't think I got a bad deal, for the money.

I like the mkiii on my mkii. Beware though, the 2xiii won't stack with the 1.4xii. (or with anything?)

Thanks Tony I'd have to say having the 2xII without stacking is fine that puts you out at 400 and about a f5 setting that's very exceptable.
