Anybody looking for a handy multi-tool for the urban jungle check out the Leatherman Skeletool series. I have the all silver model with standard blade(first gen I guess) and have used it hard but not abused it and it's still tight as new. It's just the right size for everyday carry, at least it has been for the past 3 years.

+1, I've got both the Skeletools, silver and black and they hold a killer edge. Convenient bottle opener too, gets a lot of use!

For a multitool, I'm very happy with my Leatherman Charge Ti (titanium). The blade is SV30 steel, which is the finest tool steel that Leatherman (or anyone else) has ever put into a multitool. Every single tool has a 'lock', so it wont' snap back on your fingers. Check it out !

Most of the time I carry my Leatherman CS4 with me. Not as tough as the larger multitools, but it does its job. In Belgium you're not allowed to carry a knife if you're out on the street, so I rarely have one with me. Only when I'm shooting in non-urban places (forest, around lakes, ...) I carry one. CRKT Desert Cruiser is one of my favorites. And when I'm hiking abroad in a country that allows fixed blade carry, the Muela Hornet-W Tactical with a 5.5" blade is on my belt. Awesome knife! Served me well while I was on a canoe trip in Sweden. From precise tasks to chopping wood, it does it all.

Just ordered a HEST from ESEE knives. Nice littlebugger to compliment my San Mai Trail Master. Chop-chop

Yep, I love my sure fires, the best lights I have used (that T1A gets carried every day, with a novatac and a heavily modded surefire 9P *1000 lumens at 4500k*)

Here's a few more of my sure fires (I know it's a knife thread, but you should all be carrying a light too, I use one of mine at least once a month to help focus in the dark)

The 9P (custom boring and anodize by oveready, lamp module by moddoo - available from oveready.com)

most of these are collectables, and don't get carried, I like the simple friendly little Swiss army knife for a every day carry knife

That's the older (FRN handled) StreetBowie, not the newer StreetBeat.
The grip and balance are excellent, and it would be a great fighting knife, but I have used it in the kitchen a little, and kept smashing my knuckles into the chopping board
I haven't really used it outdoors (it's a bit of a rarity, and I don't want to ding it up too much)
To be honest I prefer the Temperance,and the Perrin just stays in the display cabinet
The perrin nice and easy to conceal, but if I had to pick a knife to use everywhere from the kitchen to surviving the zombie apocalypse, it would be my Bark River Gunny

thanks for the recommendation guys. I was looking at the skeletool and love the look. But.. I know I don't need it but the leatherman MUT looks sexxxy!

Also besides amazon, where else is cheap to buy online

The mut is an EOD tool. A bit hard to justify in everyday tasks. The charge is a good tool. I love mine, and am buying my dad one asap. The mut is sexy though. The skeletool is probably 2nd on the sexy scale. I love this thread!!!

How about a down 'n dirty knife !
This one has carbon fiber scales, and the holes in the 'blood groove' serve as retention areas to hold it in the sheath. It rides real well when clipped to a belt loop.

As cool as it looks, it doesn't appear very functional (it is also illegal as heck around here)

I've Leatherman Style CS on my keys so with me all the time.

I've also got a squirt that I have on my work keys.

In my bag I've got a charge TTi. My old mans also got a wave from about 20 years ago and it's still going strong, so still in warranty. :P
