I also got back from a trip to the South Island (Nice shots, X_tan). I personally didn't go to Milford Sound (went many years back, but instead got out to the Mt Cook area.It really is the most scenic island!

Lake Hawea (yeah I was amazed at this lake too):

Lake Tekapo (this lake is naturally photogenic. We arrived at sunset, and nearly everyphoto was magical):

On Mt Cook Rd (my personal favourite shot of my trip):

Incidentally, I'd like to get some comments and criticisms on how I'm processing. Too much? I've been taking photos ever since I had a 350D, but been using JPEG until about a year ago. I still sort of feel a bit inexperienced with RAW processing.

Amazing. I really need to get back to NZ soon now that I have a bit more experience under my belt. The weather you had in 6 was much nicer than we had when we were there. Also had my wife carrying my gear as I had my 18 month old son on my back during the hike...ugh, camera gear is way lighter :p

7D, Ef 17-40 L and a polariser :)

Dr Lazarus: I see people lugging babies on hikes all the time and marvel at them. How do you do it? ;)

Thanks for the comments!

No filters at all? They are superbly exposed.

Well, I did use a polariser, as mentioned!

If you mean Nd filters, then no, I don't have any of those.

Thanks again for the comments, guys!

Sorry, yes, meant ND filters, rather than the polariser you mentioned.

I found that lots of complaining helped. The little bugger fell asleep on the way back.
