It's not a great tripod but it is a 68". I didn't see cheap 68 inchers lately and I ran out of dwarfs to portrait. Normally $35 or so, today $17.99. Free shipping with prime or in bigger orders.

I need a heavier lens.

Apr 17, 2011 07:00 | #3 Well I didn't get it yet. The cheapos I got so far have been pretty good unless you step on them, but they are only available up to 53" now. My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

Apr 18, 2011 19:38 | #8 Thingie arrived. Much better than any other < $35 tripod I have seen. FWIW. Good for having a spare one in the trunk or the office. My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

I'm not saying that purely price determines worth, but you said it's not a great tripod. I bought an expensive (to me) tripod a couple years ago that I plan to use for many years so the cost is effectively spread out. http://www.pbase.com/goldbough

Apr 19, 2011 12:35 | #12 Yes, definitely get the higher one. The only reason why I bothered with the Amazon one is that I wanted to lock in on a cheap high one. Cheap low ones are always available cheap. My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.
