The 16-35 will work nicely on those bodies you have. :)

I've borrowed one from a friend too.. and agree... I just can't spend that kind of money on one of those now though:(

Me and my girlfriend... 1D Mark III and 16-35L II

My friend shot this in Jinhae, South Korea with a half-frame Diana on an old expired roll of Kodak 400.

Is it me, or does that hood look like it's not on properly?

its reflection on the uper side, makes it look twisted but if you see the bottom of the "Petal" its normal, i see what you mean though

Do it. It took me a LONG time to work up to this lens, but it was well worth the wait and the saving. It's not perfect, but it's probably the best UWA for the bodies you have :)

It's on properly and it's not a home brew hood, it's the factory Canon hood. it's a pretty shallow but wide hood, and from this angle the top right corner of it looks like it's a petal that sticks out, but it's not, it's just the corner from an odd angle.

After staring at the camera for so long I kept looking around for a girlfriend. Never found her .

I'm loving my 17-40. I'm trying to convince myself that I need a 24-70 for my film body, but I haven't been able to (yet!) :(.

Now when I look at the bottom petal it make sense. I have the same hood on my 17-40.

actaully unless he has the mkI 16-35 it's a different hood that you get with the 17-40 since the 16-35 mkII is a 87mm filter thread and the mkI is a 77mm

Either way the hoods really look funny to me. I noticed it didn't block much flare when I had the 17-40 and the times I shot w/ the 16-35 II. A high quality filter and I was good to go UWA

I have a EW-83J hood on mine. Works much better for stay light and flare

Get it, you won't regret it. I've also owned the 17-40L and the 16-35L II is superior in every way.
