I'm thinking about selling my 20D and buying a 1DII.
Am i going mad?

The only Canon non-1 series body that can compete with the 1DMk2 for AF and frame rate is the 7D, which would cost a lot more. All the others are inferior for those two things. You will not be disappointed.

I Haven't used either, but I would imagine it comes down to if you enjoy shooting wide, or if you need the reach, and if you need the f/2.8. The L is weather sealed and more durable i'm sure as well.

I "upgraded" from a 20D to the 1D MKII and love it. It took a little bit to get use to the size/weight and the 2-button functions but after a few shoots it's a breeze.

Make the jump...you will not be disappointed.

Great shots. The white Buick T-Type made my day! That's not something I see very often!

Correct, the age of these MKIIs does not matter!

Anybody in or around Seattle that has the computer/software willing to help me change the personal settings on my 1DMKII? I'll buy lunch... coffee... a little ca$h... ?

I waited sooo long to upgrade to Win 7 because of other software needs but never gave a second thought to this subject.

PM me.

Nothing like the one before me, but here is the first shot I'm happy with using my 17-40. It arrived Thursday and today was the first time I've had any time to really shoot with it. So far I'm loving it on my 1D mkII
