Making the background blurry doesn't make it go away, the shapes and forms remain. Your eye shouldn't "Want" to go to the background, the background should encourage the eye to go to the subject. Very true! And wide apertures don't insure good bokeh, rather just very shallow DOF. But then, bokeh is very subjective. Dave
