Show me some landscaped from the midwest of the United States. Preferably in OK, KS, NE, etc. Heading that way next week for 4-5 days. Going out to storm chase, but there will be some slow days with blue skies I'm sure. Wanna try and get some good shots out there. Show me some inspiration!

How about all 3 in one shot?

It's so flat here, I could stand on my roof and probably achieve that. :D

You are more likely to get skyscapes than landscapes in the high plains. Lots of featureless vistas out there.

Here is one that was actually taken in western Colorado, same terrain. Very unusual light that day, I was shooting into the tail edge of a thunderstorm and we got a bright orange glow from behind that made for an odd colored rainbow.

A very nice compliment, but of course, undeserved. If you take pictures, you know that it takes both knowledge & luck to get the shot you want. That night a tornado system was traveling through Western OK about 45 minutes NW of Weatherford - where I was living at the time. Grabbed my camera & caught the sun right as it was setting on the other side of the clouds.

Please though, share your picture!! I love looking at pictures & there's no kind of competition around here! Just strangers with a healthy respect for photography & the interest we all share for it. :)

no, my windmill shots were taken with a stark white sky on a winter day as we drove across I-70. They have no real interest other than to show the scale of the place. I find them to be a compelling subject, but left knowing I hadn't done the subject any justice, but I was in the middle of a thousand mile drive that day so no time to work through the angles. I'm glad you were able to make a worthy shot of the subject.

NE landscapes snagged while chasing fish. Seems like the storms chased me to the truck more often than not last year. I think a couple are over cooked, but I'll get better. They're still fun to look at. I'm too impatient to read all the post processing posts on this site at this point in my life.

I usually chase alone. The weather isn't really panning out the way I had hoped. Most of the "good stuff" looks to be east of the plains. Looking like a potential tornadic outbreak tomorrow (Monday) for Arkansas. Alot of trees there just like here. Not sure about driving 800 miles to jungle chase. Hopefully something will develop later in the week further west on the plains and I can run out there a couple days.

Anyway, we had a decent outbreak here last weekend in NC. I have a few shots from that day.

Namerifrats . . . based on your photos, if you really want storms, head a bit further south. The Ohio river valley has been an expressway for severe weather the past week, and there is little relief in sight! We did get a break of a few hours today (after 4.4" of rain the past 24 hrs). I took a few pictures from the Indiana side looking toward Louisville. The first shot shows some of the driftwood along the shoreline. I swear, I think I saw a cow being carried down river. The second image normally shows wonderful fossil beds that we walk on to explore. Nope! Under water. Oh, and more rain is on the way as I write this.

The Ohio River valley has been hit hard this year. Only problem with chasing in areas like that is the same issue I have here. Too many trees and hills. Kills visibility and makes chasing a severe storm dangerous especially if there is a tornado hidden in the precip.
