Which lens? Known reason or did it just quit on you?

Tis a 70-200 f4. It kind of quit on me...(after it fell out of my hand and took a three foot drop on to my ceramic tiles) :o

End result is it's all good except for a crack in the outer plastic mounting area and the focus mechanism is all borked and off kilter. The glass is all good though. I'm thinking the repair will probably set me back at least half of what the lens cost me =\

I own a magical box that captures light!

Ouch, hopefully it doesn't set you back too much. I got a great deal on my 300 non-IS and almost dropped it the day I got it. Just about gave me a heart attack!

16-35mm 2.8L
24-70mm 2.8L
70-200mm 2.8L
100-400mm L

Finally got the perfect zoom setup after a couple years of constantly checking craigslist several times a day. I keep thinking about selling it all to make some money, but I couldn't replace them with non L lenses for what I paid for them.

Ever changing.

Define "need" :)

Seriously though, some do very varied shooting and can use several different lenses to cover different types of photography. But of course, some of it isn't "need", it's "want". :)
