Here's a re-shoot last night, from an original shoot a month or so ago.

and here's the other re-shoot I did last night... the previous version of this shot, I was not happy with at all. Besides missing focus on the front tire, I also didn't like the angle, the orientation (it was originally portrait because of some pipes that were affixed to the truck). I came better prepared this time, with some wire cutters, so I was able to remove the pipes that were attached by metal wires, thus allowing me to frame the shot in landscape mode.

I've also improved my lighting technique a bit as well.

QUOTED IMAGE

I expected the sun to start rising and the music from the "2001 a Space Odessey" monolith scene to start playing...gosh we were optimistic in the 60's about where we would be with the space program...

Smuggler's Blues

Wow - you sure did. This looks like it could have been a studio shot with the night sky shopped in. Just sick!

I agree! This is a really nice shot. And depending on how far you want to take it you *could* also clone out the wires on the top of the frame.

Hi Dave, nice to see you again.....that truck wasn't there when I took that shot, your perspective is good and I think the image is worth some work. The skies out there are brilliant....depending upon the time of year. Here's one from Silverton.
