I love this lens...it was one of my first lenses after switching to Canon a few years ago, and then after a few go-arounds with the 70-200 f4IS and the 70-200 2.8 II, I am back to using the prime.

Why?

because I found I shot about 95% at 200mm any ways, and with the smaller footprint and cheaper price it was a no brainer. Oh yeah, and the image quality is OUTSTANDING.

Yep I had one & loved it,but talked myself into think'n I needed the vercitility of a zoom... But... 95% of the time I shoot it at 200mm... Wish I'd kept the lightweight/blackness of the prime!!

I'm on my second copy of this lens. Originally sold it to go back to zooms. I'm now back to the primes and this was a must lens for me. I love the image quality wide open. :D

I ended up buying one from a fine forum member named AWBridges in the Classified section. Got it really fast I'm I really like it!

I haven't been able to shoot much yet with it but took this shot the other evening near last light with my t1i @ 1/60, 2.8, ISO 200 (on a tripod of course), and look forward to many thousands of images in the future with this great lens!

Thanks Alex, for the fast and smooth transaction!

as said by others, there are no real cons with this lens. of couse I wouldnt mind IS, but that would compromise size, weight and price, which are all among the big pro's with this lens.. and after getting 5D2, ISO-performance makes up for alot of it for my part -I can handhold this lens at night with ISO as low as 3200..

I've had mine for about a month now and while it does take some getting used to I really like it.
