Bringing this thread back from the dead!! Va photog coming to Ral in May. Any good locations (lake, ponds, etc) to shoot near the airport. I know I will spend some time at the RDU observation deck. Also, where is a good spot to shoot the Raleigh skyline?

There are a couple of spots, parking garages etc, but the best is in a bad part of town. SW side. Thatks the one in all the brochures.

Near the airport is umstead park but not too far away is the butterfly house at the museum of science in Durham.

What do you like to shoot?

Nekkid wimmen!!! LOL :D

I shoot a variety of things. May try to get out to see some of the ACC baseball tournament in Durham. Maybe some downtown Raleigh shots. Wanna hit the observation deck at RDU. And like I mentioned, I'd like a good shot of the downtown skyline.

This is a great place to shoot college sports. Some of the less popluar sports allow some great shots at little to no cost. Also a great place to shoot nekkid or longuray wimmen with all the local colleges nearby. I had a photographer say to me one time that raleigh sucked for photography, but he was only interested in landscapes and nature; even then I think he was so wrong. There is a lot of great stuff if you know where to look and have an imagination. The trick is knowing what to shoot at what time of the year and that even goes for nekkid wimmen.
