I went to their site and ordered some samples of the black, blue and red 3d CF vinyl. I may just go with a color other than black if it looks good in person. If I do, let the hating begin... lol

May the force be with you! Don't forget to share the outcome. ;)

If/when I do get my 24-70 Im definitely going to look in to a JDP carbon fibre hood. Probably going to get mad hate for this, but haters gonna hate.

The lens hood for the 24-70 scratches/scuffs very easy. I'm actually thinking of doing this. I think it looks clean and classy. Problem is id start the project, scew it up from the get go, ruin the entire hood, and end up buying a new one. Does anyone sell the modified hood?

I did this to my 28-70L hood, and love it. I used CF fabric, so it actually has texture to it. Personal preference. If you don't like it, don't do it to yours.

I wonder what ever happened to that site that sold the gold and silver stickers to use to pimp your camera. That was pretty far out stuff. The carbon fiber look is very subtle compared to that. I'm too lazy to try it, but if they were for sale, I wouldn't mind having one.

Honestly if I saw someone in public with their hood like that I would have a quiet chuckle. It reminds me of cars with "racing pedals", CF wrap on things, and giant wings.

lol, yup.

Not much more distracting than the bird thread titles -- tit is an unfortunate name for a bird.

I think I'll try that grey metallic next. But if I shot Nikon you better believe I'd be rolling with champaign on all my hoods. I bet that would look stellar.

Good thing Peter Lik is a landscape guy. Mix up that one with some bird names and it could get X rated real fast.

^^ This looks cool and I think I'll give it a try. It would make my 70-200 look awesome. Was it hard to get the vinyl fitted in the crease in the hood?
