The ''underdog''... I sold it yesterday and wanted to keep the memories. Canon 100-300mm 4.5-5.6 USM

When I first switched from FD to EOS, I bought one of these and it really was a dog over 200mm :( Having used FD lenses for 10 years, I really thought Canon had lowered their standards when I saw the results of the 100-300mm zoom. Consequently, I didn't have it long!

I shot a whole bunch of lenses recently - when selling some of my gear;

Here's the set on flickr:

IMAGE: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5310/5596402276_1fbdfb0319.jpg
IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …p/sets/72157626319317295/ (external link)

It contains:
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
Tokina 35mm f/2.8 macro
Tokina 50-135mm f/2.8
Tokina 80-400mm
Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
Asahi S-M-C Takumar 50mm f/1.4

and a bunch of flashes. They all sold within a week or so, except for the 50-135 which wasn't for sale (never gonna give it up :p )

Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!

Hehe you're right, it was pretty garbage above 200... In fact it always produced really faint contrast and wasn't all that sharp after 135mm. I saw it as useful, still, because the bokeh was decent enough. The rest I took care of in the post ;)

Example

I had it in the good old film days so post wasn't an option! :lol: You've made it look half decent with that image. :)

I find it amazing how much smaller wide lenses can be on rangefinders, compare it to this Nikon 28mm f/2.

Now if only someone would come out with a cheap digital rangefinder, what's taking them so long?
