How's the reliability of refurbished cameras? I'm thinking about picking up a refurbished S95.

The S95 is not included in the CLP. I just called last week to ask about it and they said the camera was too new to be in the program.

Hmm That's strange. I saw it listed under the "refurbished powershots" section.

Try reading some through this thread a little bit. Not everything on the refurbished page is in the CLP.

Yep, there are some cameras that are available refurbished that are not on the CLP, and some cameras that are on the CLP that are listed at all on the refurb pages.

They're still selling G11s via CLP. I'd imagine we won't see any G12s until they're either out of G11 stock or nearly so.

They ARE still selling G11s? They've disappeared from the Canon Direct website so I'd figured they were gone. Perhaps I shall call tomorrow!

^ could you post the price on them after you call tomorrow too? i'm strongly considering the G12, but if the G11 is the right price, then i might get that instead.

So how does this exactly work? I've read the sticky multiple times, but still not sure.
As far as I know it works like this:
- Call CLP
- Receive some form you have to fill out
- Buy refurb camera
- Receive camera
- Send form+Canon product
- Get 20% cashback

And if so, how long does it take? My mum will be visiting the US soon, so I figured she could pick one up for me? If I'd order the camera in advance and by the time she gets there it's there already and then she sends the Canon product to Canon, would that work? Or does it take more than a week for that to work? (Because that's the only time she'll be there)

Have broken camera handy
Call CLP
Order what you want (20% discount already applied, they might ask for Serial # of broken cam)
Receive camera & return shipping label (via email)
Use the shipping label to send the broken cam to Canon
All done

And how long would this take? You reckon it to be possible within the week? Or to order the camera beforehand and just have my mum ship it to Canon?
