^Very badass. I'd work my ass off to clone out the car reflection in the last shot.

Help with Custom function, please

I am trying to set up a custom function on my xsi, so I can access it easily without having to go into the menu every time. What I'd like to do is set the camera up to bracket.... sometimes just for exposure and sometimes for HDR. I've gone into the Custom section on the menu, and I can set it up manually, but as soon as I turn the camera off, I have to go back into the menu and start all over again. Someone who had a 7D (I know.. a totally different animal) said he has a star icon on his LCD screen and he can choose from several different custom functions. Is that possible on a xsi. If not, does anyone know if the 60D is capable of doing this? (I've been toying with the idea of upgrading).

If I can do this, would someone either be willing to give me step by step directions, or provide a link. I did try to do this using the instruction manual, but was unsuccessful.

Thanks!

JoanB

I am trying to set up a custom function on my xsi ...

The XSi does not have a custom setting. The 60D has one custom setting that will retain bracketing, ISO, camera mode, AF points, drive mode, etc.

The 60D manual is downloadable from here. Page 262 describes how to register camera settings.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. On the 60D, do you need to choose only one of the functions you list above, or one of each?

Thanks for that link. Right now I am on a ship going through the Panama Canal and the internet signal is just barely there. I will save it and check it out when I get home.

On the 60D, do you need to choose only one of the functions you list above, or one of each?

An example. If you wish to do 2 stop bracketing in Av mode on a tripod, set your camera to Av mode, drive mode to continuous, aperture to f/8, ISO to 400, self timer to 2 second delay, picture style to landscape, center point auto-focus, highlight tone priority off, noise reduction standard, etc. All these settings and more can be registered (all at once) to the C mode. All you need do is turn the mode dial to "C" and you are ready to shoot.

Any more questions and you may PM me. We're getting off track here on the 450D users thread.
