After trying to get together to shoot this car for ages, we finally decided to go out today to get some shots, even though the car is dirty.

Shooting was hard as the car was very dirty and also the lighting was very harsh as we were only able to pop out at lunch time.

Shot with 24-105 + Hoya CPL. Forgot my LEE filters! All images are 3 image HDR to try and deal with the harsh lighting.

More car shots here (external link).

We are going to try again in a few weeks when the car might be clean!

Thanks for looking,

Ian.

Good idea! TBH I would basically ditch these and have another shot when the car is clean and also at a better time of day. HDR doesn't make up for bad lighting.

Dirt doesn't hurt an STI as much as it would another car. Sort of looks tough as it is really a tone down rally car.

I think if you're gonna take shots of a dirty STi, go all out and run it through some mud beforehand :P That level of dirty just makes it look like the car was driven around town for a few weeks...

If the car was clean (or very dirty/muddy) and there was less tone mapping, I'd say awesome :)

looks like way too much love on the "clarity" slider in Lightroom to me.
