I bought the 7D last weekend for $1700 from Berger Brothers Camera in Amityville, NY. They only had the kit with the 28-135 but I called and they agreed to split the kit and sell me the camera for $1700.

B&H got them in stock sometime today and reduced the price back down to MSRP @ 1699.

Wow, that sucks. Glad I got it from the CLP for $1175 last fall.

I am close to crying in my beer right about now  ... I tryed to convince my spouse a few months ago that my birthday was a great time to upgrade...I now find myself needing to replace my ancient and looks to be dead ( "Error99" coded) EOS 300D...but the price has increased by $500.
...Anyone think a "Will Work for Camera" sign on a corner will work? ;)
Thanks for the lead on B&H...I will check it out

You can get it for $1525 CDN or about $1580 US from these guys

They currently show stock as well. I've bought a few cameras from
them and haven't had any problems.

B&H dropped the prices back down to $1699 along with other gear. I guess they realized folks were not happy about what appeared to be price gouging. Now, Adorama needs to come to their senses.

Not sure if adorama will do that. I mean most everything has gone up in price look at the 85L it shot up to rediculous levels and only now is it coming back down.

Then B&H is going to get lots of calls or folks will ask Adorama to price match.

Yup it all evens out. I mean it could be a move by BH to have people wait list on thier site instead since they are show casing the lower price.

I paid the $1849 plus some extra stuff at Adorama, now I'm sitting outside waiting for the UPS guy to show up. Hope it doesn't get to cold at night, as the delivery date in not until Monday. The price I paid at Adorama worked out to be a bit better the B&H because of what I was charged for the extended service plan and extra package stuff. So I'm happy except that I postponed my birthday from today until Monday when the camera is due to arrive.

Suggestions welcome.

Been there and done that many times. I jumped on the preorder list as soon as the 7D was announced and that was something like a two month wait.
