Boy, am I in a world of hurt! I just shot severl 60D movies of my grandson batting in a Little League game thinking I could download them to his ipad2. No such luck...what am I doing wrong? I have the Apple Camera Connectin Kit and neither the SD or USB connectors work. The movies will transfer but only appear as a grey blank when I call for iPad photos. Please help me get out of the dog house. Thanks BJ

Won't work. The iPad 2 is ridiculously picky (like all apple devices) about the format of the movie it is playing. You need to have the movie within a certain set of parameters for them to play on the iPad. You will need to use a video editor on a PC to convert the movie to an iPad compatible format.

Under TV and video. Good luck deciphering it. Your best bet is to get a video editor that has a preset for an iPad as one if the formats it can export.

There are few solution out there but imho it is not worth the trouble. As anything else in IPAD, you will need to sync it with ITune which mean you will need to use your PC to sync your movies. Basically this allows IPad to copy your movies to your IPad. I have IPad CineXPlayer that can decode the movie format. You can also use AirVideo for IPad that can covert the movie on fly by wifi but have to be hosted by Air Video server in your PC.

quicktime can also export out the videos that come off the Canon camera and put them into a smaller more compatible format (it can do either .mov or .m4v). Still would require PC to iPad sync. I do not know of any direct hookup that allows compatible playing.

Anyone know if the VLC app that used to be available (i think it got pulled now) would play the videos straight from the camera?

I convert everything over with dvdfab. There's an ipad quick export setting that works great. 30 day demo available if you want to try it out.

Use a free app called Handbrake to convert your movie to iPad compatible format. Works excellent and easy to use.

Well what I do is Download the Clips to my MAC and then just go to the File name and change movie Format to .MP4 or .MOV Then you upload to iTunes or Sync iTunes to have Videos and Pics synced to your iPAD. Works for me on my iPAD 2 every time

I use Handbrake as well, fantastic tool, great to reduce the size of those video files without losing too much quality.

In my house I put anything worthwhile on an D-Link 323 NAS with uPNP enabled. To view stuff my son uses XMBC on his PC as his mediacenter, and the iPhone/iTouch devices we have have Buzz Player which not just can stream but also allow you to copy stuff to the local device without having to sync. Not played too much with that myself but seems OK!

You can also jailbreak the ipad 2 to get them to play natively.

Thanks...looks easy enough and should solve the problem. If I get guttsy enough I'll give it a try. Never having "jailbreaked"...what's the downside?
