Tis it bad that when i look at the price of the 1DII i start thinking "Hey maybe it would be cool to have" when i already have a 7D?

It just seems to have an interesting draw to the images, and id love to see how the 45-point AF is

KenjiS when I bought mine in 2009 at $1,500.00 it was a very good deal for the one I have ,But now that you can get it for a lot less it is one of the real bargains out there . But one word of warning if you decide to get one make sure you have the right operating system to use the firewire and to able to change the settings and name.

1D-series bodies are known for their brilliant 45 AF points... More so around the "Ring of Fire" (AF points on the outer parts)... Some say (and I can attest), that the "Ring of Fire" AF points are just as good as the center-point on a Canon xxD/Rebel body... With that said, the center AF point on a 1D-series is outstanding... LOCK AND LOAD!!! hehehehheehhe...

:)

After waiting for 7D show up on CLP, I just bought a bargain grade 1D Mkiin from KEH. Should be here on Monday. I have to order non-oem charger and battery separately as it didn't come with one. I'll post some pics next week.

Hey, guys.

What is the fastest CF card speed that I would need for maximum FPS on a 1d2?

Lost my 16 GB card, so...

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

Maximum write speed for the 1D2 is approximately 8MB/s so most versions of the San Disk UltraII or beyond will give you maximum performance possible for clearing the buffer for high-fps shooting.

It doesn't matter. The key word is "sealed" not "proof"

There is no way I would let my gear get soaking wet unless I absolutely had no choice.

I would hate to find mold in my lens, or water in my body.........

MKIIN wide angle for the thread:

Upgrading my 30D to a 1Dn II within the month, so excited! I was originally going to save longer and get the 1D III just because of the age of the II, but my friend convinced me to go ahead with this one.

Nice. Ballsy, but still impressive that it's all good to go. Let's start showing some pics of how durable the II/IIn's are.
