My Grandparents are buried in Duncan. Don't know what cemetery though, and I've never been there.

Well I would have to go to a cemetery and shoot first. I've been thinking about it.

Well done for posting something so powerful.
Famous for so many wrong reasons, I think the killing fields need to be part of general education the world over.
Thanks again.

Hey Mel,
I started this thread for various reasons, but look at post #536 to the bottom of that page here -> https://photography-on-the.net …read.php?t=661754&page=36
and you'll see why it became a lot more important to me that I, and anyone who can, adds to it.
There's plenty in between, but on page 42 here -> https://photography-on-the.net …read.php?t=661754&page=42 you can see/read about the end of that journey.

Please do add.
Regards,
Simon

You must be psychic or something Simon.

All my life I have loved graveyards. So peaceful and tranquil. Loved going for walks through them and just reading the headstones.

Until 3 years, two months, and 14 days ago. February 29th, 2008 I watched my mother go home at age 62.

I have not had the slightest interest in graveyards since we buried her. I have not been back. I can not tell you if there is a headstone or not. I'm not sure I would even be able to find her. Not that she's there anyways.

I have had some inklings to go walk through a cemetery again, just not that one. Not sure though.

Within the past 6 years, I have lost a beloved great-uncle, a dear friend from my
church congregation, and another friend whom I was very close with,
in just such a descending order.

Go visit you mom, Mel.
I assure you, it will be good for you.

Losing my great-uncle was hardest for me, as he was more of a father to me
than my own father ever was, but losing the other good people in my life
taught me that there's no substitute for excellent guidance and genuinely
sincere friendship and love.

I think you owe it to your mother to visit her, talk to her, and tell her all about
what you feel. It makes me feel better when I visit my friends or family at their
burial places, just to tell them how I'm doing, and I suspect you'll feel the same.

Once you get over the initial trepidation, you'll likely feel a whole lot better
about the entire scenario.

Hey Melody,
Craig was a great help in here when my Dad died, and after he lost various loved-ones all I can say is, his is good advice.
I can't tell you how many pints I've cried since Dad died, but the people in POTN helped so much, simply by a kind word here and there.

Hey Roger,
Lovely shot, and nice to see a Brit whose made a great time of it "down under" adding to the thread...
I've rellies in Perth who did the same 40+ years ago, and are still loving their life there, having been born in the East End.
Hope to see a lot more from you in here, and if you can add any more details to the pics, please do, as the history from there is excellent!
Regards,
Simon
