Easter Sunday I had a very very brief shoot with my friend Vanessa who lives down the street from me. We only shot for like 10 minutes because, well, it was Easter Sunday haha. Anyways, I managed to pull two shots out of this shoot (maybe 25 frames). For all my Flickrites out there, the black and white one got Explored : ) My third appearance in Explore ever : )
For the first shot, I wanted to create cool bokeh and really put focus on her eyes because they are absolutely gorgeous! She won the yearbook senior superlative award for Best Eyes for my senior class this year. Definitely deserved it. The second shot I tried to give it a vintage fashion look to it with the semi awkward head tilt and whatnot. I wasn't too stoked on it at first but eventually it grew on me.

And finally, yesterday I had a very brief shoot with my friend Amanda. She is a total goober but definitely fun to hang out with and whatnot. This shoot got cut short by my very angry mother (forgot to call and tell her where I was going... woopsie hahah) so we ended this one after like 40 frames.
The shot itself is definitely my most complex composite image ever... I did the dumb thing and shot at an angle I didn't like and didn't shoot wide enough (I kicked myself so hard for that) so I ended up having to composite in parts from like 5 different photos to finally create my end product. In the end though, I was satisfied with what I created as it did blend nicely and I got the image I had envisioned.

I had a pretty interesting idea two weeks ago on Tuesday that pretty much came to me right on the spot. While me and my friend Xiang were out searching for a location to shoot for my project, we somehow came upon the idea of going and shooting photos inside Lowes right down the street from my house. A little unconventional and probably not technically allowed but whatever... We went and rocked it. Xiang, being the absolutely gorgeous model that she is, worked it and we came out with some pretty sweet photo. I was actually pretty surprised all the interesting compositional elements that Lowes offered for photos. Anyways... Enough talk, here were the results:
The first photo was taken in the Lowes Garden Center. For my fellow Flickronians, this one got Explored at #3. I was pretty stoked on that because I've for sure never been so high up in Explore

The second photo was taken in the Refrigerator Aisle. The lines of the refrigerators provided some interesting composition. The lighting for the photo was provided by the light from inside a refrigerator across the aisle. Gotta make due with what you got right?

The last photo that I posted from this shoot was from the Lumber Aisle. The leading lines in this aisle were definitely helpful for creating a strong composition. This shot got Explored at #186

The next day I shot with my friend Vanessa again. I didn't really have much time to shoot that day but we did manage to squeeze out one photo. I think we shot a grand total of like 20 minutes or so before I had to get back to my studies.

The next day was a more basic portrait that I busted out in a 15 minute shoot at midnight. I had slacked on getting a shot for that day but luckily my neighbor was able to come over and help me out very briefly for my project.
