I took photos of some amateur shows (specifically "We Will Rock You") with the permission of the Company staging them (my daughter was in the shows).
Their permissions 9rights?) allowed the making of videos (which they did) but said nothing about stills.
I sold some books and photos to Company members.
The Company then ceased and was taken over by the Musical Director under another name.
I now wish to enter some of these photos in competitions/sell them.
The current Musical Director says the original company gave me permission implicitly ( by allowing me to take the photos) before so still ok to use them now.
I just want to make sure :-
Who now hold these 'rights' - which I understand are rights to hold the production?
I obviously hold the copyright to the photos.
I don't want to publish these photos only to be hit by a law suit from the original show (which is still in the West End ).
It was a very high standard production and sold out a 1700 theatre for a week.
