I just bought one brand new. It's so hard to try and score one off the forums as they literally last 15 minutes before getting picked up! And the prices are starting to go up! I can't wait to receive it. :D

I noticed and made some adjustments on it. Luckily it was held by double sided sticky tape only. :D

A few taken with the Sigma 30mm 1.4 while celebrating my sons 25th birthday. These were shot at ISO 800.

My 3 yr old lens went to Sigma for calibration and everything (except shipping to the service center) was covered by Sigma.

You could have sent your camera and the lens to sigma to have the lens calibrated.

They'll cover only one way so no... you'll have to pay for shipping to sigma. If I were you, i'll just drive there. takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes to get from Wappingers falls to Ronkonkoma. A nice trip. They finished calibrating my lens in an hour. Just make sure you call to see if you have to do any "online paperwork" before walking in.

On the topic of having this lens calibrated - is it better to have the lens calibrated to suit my camera, or should I send the lens back and swap it for another? Would the calibration mean the focus is better than trying my luck with a replacement?

I don't have the lens yet, but hope to soon - and I would hope it arrives without any need for calibration, but it does seem quite common.

It only seems common because those of us who didn't have issues didn't post to tell everyone.

:D Picked up my Sigma today from the P.O this morning

I took this picture with it. I don't know if this picture is good enough for a answer, but what do you guys think of the copy? *f/2.8 - Focus was on the "4". Tried to keep a steady hand *
