I was looking at it without the head, and the price kind of puts me off... If I'm paying that much for a tripod, I think I'd want something from a bigger brand with a good reputation.

Maybe I was looking at them cross eyed but the attraction to Horusbennu is similar specs in a better known brand cost a lot more. HB was 60-70% of the well know brand names I thought.

No you're right, HB is much cheaper, thats the reason anyone buys their products at all. But thats the problem, they're cheaper. They must cut costs somewhere, and we don't know where yet, besides the fact that they manufacture them in China. If I was just in the market for a $150-$200 tripod, I probably wouldn't give it a second thought, but if I'm going to shell out $300, I want to be able to trust the brand name completely, and unfortunately, HB doesn't give me that impression just yet, so I'd rather live with less features, but the knowledge that I have a solid product where corners haven't been cut.

I believe dhsummer is the only one who offers "best offer" as well as buy it now? Might be wrong though.

Yeah that's the only reason I bought from him. Pretty good deal if you can talk him down. Seems like you can knock off 10-15%, depending.

I thinking of the LX-5 with a C-2540 Carbon Fiber Tripod.

Decent enough for a 7D with a 70-200 IS MK2?

I have no experience with the tripod, but that head certainly can do it.

LOL, some seller is just trying to make money of an unsuspecting eBayer.

I am looking to pair up a Three Legged Thing Adrian with a HorusBennu LX-5. Should be a good combo.
