I am tossing and turning about getting a refurb 50D, a 7D is what I would like, if I can afford it, but not sure.

My question is has anyone recently got a 50D Refurb from the CLP, and are you happy with it, shutter count, condition?

I am upgrading from a XSi, and shoot indoor basketball, as an amatuer dad...I know the 7D is the way to go,,,but thinking of the 50D.
The 60D just does not give me a good feeling....screen feels toyish, I know it is me,,,,but that is what I feel.

Thanks

Haven't purchased any refurb's from the CLP, but have purchased a 40D and more recently a 50D from Adorama, shutter counts were very low on both and were in excellent condition. Other than the white refurb box they come in, you wouldn't know they were refurb'ed units.

Have not purchased a refurb from CPL, however my 50D is a refurb from B&H that I purchased from another member here. Shutter count was sub-200 when I recvd it, and the only way you could tell it apart from brand spakin new was the white box it came in.

Just received a 50d from CLP and there is a chip out of the body and marks around the lens release button. Looks like it was dropped or hit against something. Approximately 2100 shutter count. I wouldn't say I'm happy, but many others have been.

I haven't purchased anything, but have heard horror stories from a photographer I have spoken to.

I bought a refurb 50D, and am very happy with it. I also used the CLP, and saved 20% from the refurb price. My body had 8k clicks, but others have had nearly no usage on theirs. Mine looks and acts as new, and it's a good jump forward from my 30D that it replaced.

Regards!
Don

I wonder what the OP decided on...... back in January :)

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

I've received a G9 to replace a G2, a 30D to replace a Digital Rebel, and a 50D to replace one of my 30 D's. ALL looked brand new when I opened the boxes. the only notable is they come in a plain white box instead of the pretty retail boxes.. so note that is you readl all bazillion posts for the show me your boxes thread. I'm more about the gear than the box, so for me they were fantastic deals!
