I really like these. Very creative use of texture. I'd be interested to see these in color.

These are fantastic. The use of tone on tone is gorgeous. I think color would take away from them

Thanks a bunch, I had a lot of fun producing them. If you would like to see the entire series you can follow this link to my smugmug page.

I think these are absolutely beautiful. I also love the b&w work you have at your smugmug site.

I have a couple of questions that I hope you would be good enough to answer. Were the sea shell photos done in a studio or in natural light? Did you use a plugin such as NIK's Silver Effects Pro to edit these?

Thanks and I 'm looking forward to more from you.

Thanks for the kind comments. To answer your questions, they were done in a studio using natural light. Then all edited with NIK software. In varying combinations of Viveza 2, Color Efex Pro, and Silver Efex Pro2.

In fact that is true of every shot currently onmy smugmug site.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I appreciate it. Many years ago, when I was an x-ray technician, I used to 'photograph' shells like the nautilus by taking an x-ray of them and using that as the negative. In inner structure of these animals are quite amazing to see.
