Been reading and playing with the 7D for two weeks and happy to say some of the new features are starting to make sense. There is one feature I can't seem to get working or I just don't understand. That is how, if possible, to turn on the Red focus conformation squares when in AI Servo. Just can't believe that they don't work in AI Servo mode like they do in One Shot mode.

Thanks,
Craig

You cannot turn on any audible/visual confirmation in AI Servo. The only thing you "could" try to use as a confirmation is if you were shooting in spot+expansion, zone, or all-point AF. Then as you see the AF point shift around (if you're not good at keeping the subject in the same exact spot via the VF), then the shifting of those points would let you know who/where you're tracking from. :D

Well that answer my question, maybe not the way I was hoping.:) Guess it is just something I will have to get use to on the camera. Though I like hearing the little beep and seeing red flashing light, it just feels right. Now back to all the other custom functions I haven't played with yet.:lol:

Thanks,
Craig

It never can confirm focus via red box in AI Servo because it is constantly focusing and never stops to confirm it.

That makes sense but thought for sure my 40D did blink and beep in AI Servo. Should have kept it a little longer just to compare with the 7D.

99.9% sure your 40D did not do that in Servo either.

If you were in AI Focus it would have beeped, not in AI Servo.
