i just recently got lightroom 3 and have been playing around with it...edited some pics a lot different than usual...i kind of love them but not sure if they'll look too done to others...i don't usually do it like this haha but...was thinking it might be pretty on canvas...something about it being so soft gives it a painterly feel or something but maybe i should just do it on my own images and do it differently for others...ramble ramble...

what do you all think?

and while i'm at it...how do you feel about the logo?

also...how do you share images from flickr on here?

I like the color and I love the logo.. I think the face is a bit hot though.

I can't figure out how to do a watermark without a box appearing around it...

I tried it in Aperture. Pehaps "watermark" isn't the correct tool?

Hot yes, but I believe it works quite well. I'm not sure if you were to perhaps tone it down whether it would loss its transition. With the adding of detail to left of the nose would change the entire feel.

Well done!

Brady

i think the edit is a bit much. A slight bump in contrast, some skin smoothing, and a tinny bit of warming would look good in my opinion.

The edit looks crazy. :) It's "different", but for her age I definitely prefer the original. It's a great photo and with some simple edits it'll be a really nice photo.

I love the second edit. Has a wonderful fall feel to it and she still has skin texture! :-)

I LOVE the second edit, it's beautiful. Great autumn/vintage feel to it. Definitely canvas worthy.

My vote is for the second edit. Not as harsh as the first.
maybe change the color of your watermark since the "gypsy" is hard to read
