After viewing all the photos taken with the lens, I am ready to pull the trigger on getting one. I was looking at the Canon 10-20mm, but I'm a amateur beginner photographer. I can't go wrong with this can I?

I sure haven't regretted it. I have heard there are some soft ones out there so just test it out once you get it.

Like you, I am new at this, I've had my camera for about a year. Would I like a Canon 10-20? Sure! But I got the Sigma because it was more affordable, and I couldn't be happier. I think you'll really enjoy it.

NOOB ALERT QUESTION:

I read that of these lenses were "bad" copies. Being new at this how do I know if I got a bad one? What am I looking for?
