Kenko tubes headsup

Hey people....... just thought i'd post this ebay item for some Kenko extension tubes....
the price is fantastic....... even when you take postage into account.....

if i'm right the DG version of the set are the ones that will work with ef-s lenses too.

£49 just isn't to be sniffed at and somebody could bag themself a real bargain...... (they retail for $160 at B & H photo, thats about £92 not counting shipping)

Looks like a bargain- think you'll find they still do not work with EF-S lenses though.

Get the Jessops tubes as they work more or less with the EFS series.

The Kenko DG tubes do not work with EF-S lenses, at least according to the official Kenko product website That is an excellent price, I paid something like AU $260 for my set (Sadly, the Australian government makes Australians the most taxed country in the world, hence the high price).

yeah thats the ones i have..... they work fine with the ef-s....
sorry for stating these Kenko ones work with the efs..... i know they do have a set that is compatible... (somehow i got it into my mind that it was the DG series)

Kenko does not make EF-S compatible tubes but the regular ones can be modified buy grinding out the hole in the plastic ring that holds the front electrical contacts. I did mine with a Dremel tool. Obviously great care is needed (not a good place to do your first Dremel use). You need to stop a couple millimeters before you get to the brass pins and go no deeper into the tube than that first plastic ring. All you are doing is making a space to accept the rubber bumper.

I did only my 12mm tube and decided that it really was not worth the effort or risk. 12mm is too much extension for the wide end of the lens and I have a 50mm f/1.8 that does better for that end. Perhaps it would be worth doing if I had a 17-85 (but I don't).

Hey guys im looking to get a set of the tubes from ebay. The vendor that sells them is in Hong Kong. Anyone have any experience with this vendor? Ive never ordered anything rfom overseas. Im in the US. Should I just order from here or spend an extra 65 dollars and get them locally? thanks.

I'd most probably get it over ebay, seller seems quite legit. And after all, money in your pocket is always better than it being in someone elses!

i've got an angle finder (5 days to deliver)and i just recieved my battery grip and a replacement eyecup this morning from urgalaxy in hong kong......... i ordered the grip on monday........... i'd recommend this seller

I just bought a set from that seller (99.9% sure that one) and received them in about a week and a half. Thers definately nothing wrong with that seller.

I got a sigma50-500 from them £230.00 cheeper than the best UK price it arrived 4days after the funds cleared.
