I gravitated toward a square crop on this one with the black edges. It just feels right. Am I off my rocker?

Love those 2 doors! Shot against them many many times. I'm not crazy about the crop - but I think some of it has to do with the it not being shot straight. Love how her shoes pull into the green doors though.

Oh lawd...love love love the colors and the shoes moving into the green door...YES!!!

Have you tried pulling in the left side to a 8x10 crop pushing her over towards the left some looking into the picture?

Nice shot. What lighting was used? Also, I presume this was down at the West Bottoms?

Yeah, I have a second crop where it's 8x10 and she's on the left side of the image. I'll try to remember to post it. I think, after sleeping on it, I'm going to end up liking it (the regular 8x10) better.

Yes, West Bottoms. I love shooting down there but desperately need to find another location...I just want to find more variety.

The lighting was a single Steve Kaeser umbrella box (camera right of course), Einstein, Vagabond Mini-Lithium. I think power was about -3f. There was some ambient bleeding through, but not a ton.

I dunno, ya know.
That little corner over there kind of gave it depth.
What's everyone else think?

The black border makes it.

I agree... The black border definitely adds depth and a proper amount of negative space. Definitely makes the pic. It's a pretty great shot to begin with. Great job!

Thanks, guys! I actually gave her the square version, but removed the borders (thus making it an 8x10). I owe her one more picture, though, so perhaps when I send that to her I'll add the black borders back in.
