these where taken on my T1i and a zeiss 50mm planar 1.4 c/y mount adapted to canon eos tell me what you think XD

Wow this brings back memories. I was put in the Young Marines as a "troubled youth" and I hated it haha. I have asthma and my drill sergeant nicknamed me iron lung! 18 weeks of bootcamp but it's an experience I'll never forget.

just received my copy today. so far i love it. I owned the 50mp prior and maybe it was just my copy but i was not as impressed as i thought i would be. For almost half the price i would say the 50 1.4 is definitely the better bang for the buck unless you need macro and even then i think there are better alternatives.

here is my first test shot with the new combo... and of course it would only be appropriate if it was a duck or flower shot. not bad for a non-macro lens. slight curves adjustment, added a b/w layer and also a tiny bit of shapening applied

Did you do that with the ZE 1.4/50? Wow, you're right, quite impressive for a non macro lens.

this is an awesome shot + pp! if more shots were like this one we would see zeiss move a lot more of the 50 1.4 lenses!

i no longer have this lens but i do have the CY version of it now but hte way this lens renders the scene is what i love most about it. it may not be the sharpest wide open at MFD but its characteristics is what makes it good.

heres a few from trip to vietnam last year
