It is kind or hokey but I'm not sure if my flash will work mounted at a 90 degree angle. I really did not want to buy more brackets and stuff as I already had flash zebra components. I normally used reflective and just got a shoot through umbrella. I ordered these a few days ago so I had to figure out a way to keep the flash strait.

Went to the local hardware store and got a this. $2.00 They come on 90 degree angles etc.

I put soft sided velcro on so that it would not scratch the flash, particularly the focus assist beam area.

Final results. I have the opposite side of the velcro at the front but used an elastic at the back because of the focus assist beam area. Still working on that. It is pretty stable. I could not knock it off bumping into it and once part of it is inside the umbrellas diffuser screen even better.

That's not too bad at all!! It definitely looks like it puts the flash on the axis of the umbrella.

Nice simple and clean. I like it. I would probably use bungee balls to lock it down. Nice design though. Thanks for sharing.

OP - Nice and cost effective setup, but I would be afraid my flashes came to a horrific death from the lack of actual support for the flash.

It is not the greatest but I could not bump them off. I may yet get something different but I have not seen anything yet.

Hahaha....thanks for making me look like an idiot laughing at the computer screen....

Another thing I like to use to secure my flash to something or a gel holder to my flash is one of those Livestrong type wristbands. They are the perfect size for my 580EX and are very strong....bonus is most of those types of bands profits go to charity and they come in all sorts of colors!
