Hi everyone -

Ive had trouble getting out of the house to shoot lately, but I had a free hour yesterday afternoon so I decided to look thru the archives for images to re-edit/discover.

Came across a set from the Split Rock Lighthouse 100th anniversary where they turned on the light every Friday night for most of the summer.

Thought I'd share the results here - let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Lovely, I have a tile art of Split Rock
Lighthouse in my kitchen. My family used to own that little island across from it where they would bring an ore ship to safety during a storm. That's my daddy's home territory.

Nice shot. Like the fog wall behind it. Split rock must be one of the most photographed spots in MN, along with the lift bridge. I must have a couple hundred from over the years myself. I always wanted to get one of it at sunrise, but I never seem to be able to get there in time.

Very interesting indeed - how long ago was that and do you know who owns it now?

I never seem to get anywhere up the shore for Sunrises in the summertime, its just too d@mn early for me. I go out for sunrise shoots far more often in the fall/winter/spring - Split Rock is on my list this fall. Glad you liked it.

It got pretty soupy that evening - the fog would come and go every few minutes. Here's a shot from 20 minutes earlier - before they turned on the light:

Both are lovely captures. The AYES have it.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.

Thanks! And I have to ask, what is it with you and the AYES? Am I missing something?:)
