I like 5, except for the crop

The crop is certainly not conventional, but I like it - in this case I think that it adds something to the overall image.

Sometimes you need to break the "rules' - and in this case, it would seem that if the shooter played by the "rules", he (or she) would have the batter (as a lefty) on the right side of the frame rather than up against the left. But with the spectator, in this case I see a balance of subject and color.

If's not how a beginner would or should look to shoot - but it's certainly beyond that. We hear so much about "image quality", but so little about "quality images" - I think this is a case of a quality image IMO.

Peace,
D.

Wow, what a nice picture! You must have a really great camera!

Noob question: what is the little button type thing on the body of the 1d right under the lens? I wish I could grab some these manuals that are in the marketplace sometimes, but they go so quickly!

Edit: oh! And if anybody could point in the right direction of a part number for the wire to transfer captures straight from the body to the computer...and maybe a free raw converter software

Photography on my budget? WHAT WAS I THINKIN?!
