An opportunity has arrived to buy

1. SMC TAKUMAR 1:1.4/50
2. Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:3.5/28
3. Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:4/200
4. Asahi Pentax ES camera
5. Starblitz 160A Flash

Do you people think I should by all of these ?
I was thinking of offering £ 150 to £ 175.

Or shall I be selective ?

Anyone ?

Well, most of you are professionals, so, I guessed I might get some advice, that's why I asked.

I don't know if I missed some previous posts but what did you want to use the gear for?

Plus why are you posting this in the 60D thread?

I have a 60D.

Ging back into this thread, when I was a bit more active, there was a discussion on using manual lens, esp in videography. (around page 127-8 possibly)

It was then said that SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 is one of the best, blows the Canon f/1.8 (which I have) out of the water.

I use a Sigma 50 f/1.4 which works well with video but I do wish it had OS for the times I want to hand hold. Regarding the MF lenses I can't help much. :(

Texas BBQ, parking lot style! Every Friday this guy pulls into the parking lot here at work with BBQ in tow. I haven't tried it yet but several at our office have and say it's some of the best that they have tasted!

Ok, so I don't care if this is off center, not level, etc. I'm just having trouble thinking none of my pics look as good on my laptop as they do on the view finder. I end up editing all the photos I want to post, but I do very little and think they should just look like they do when I take the pic. Anyhow, I'm posting 2 photos here taken about a second apart, but one has been edited to look like what I see when I take the pic and the other untouched. Question is does everyone have to edit and how does the color look on the second pic to everyone else? I'm just wondering if it's my screen on the laptop.

^ Do you usually shoot raw? If yes, then there goes your answer. What you're seeing on the camera is a low-res jpeg, processed by the camera, which usually have more "pop" compared to raw files.

Better comparison is to do a before and after of the same pic. I'm guessing that 5895 is the one with post on it? What all did you adjust and was it from a raw file or jpeg from the camera?

Yes the 95 is post. It's JPEG and all that was done was auto correct in Microsoft pic manager and a little contrast. The first just looks hazy to me and not clear. How does the second look?

I like the contrast on the first one better. Too much contrast in the second. Try adding vibrance to the first and it should pop a little more. Maybe a bit of clarity as well. Although by the sounds of it, you don't have lightroom nor are you shooting raw.
