Its highly ironic that the original poster, Sparkplug, would complain about a stolen image but yet he posts his friend's image without credit or attribution.

From the first and eleventh posts, I thought it was pretty clear that the image was his friend's - though, you're right, he didn't give a specific name or contact information.

Too bad, too - I was going to buy that image to print on a shirt, guess I'll never know who to send the check to ;)

I did see the statement that he was copying this information from another forum and the subsequent posts that mention his friend, who also posted in this thread. That, however, is not germane to the greater point that in complaining about theft of an image, he then uses the image without attribution nor credit to his "friend." If we're going to go hard after infringers we need to do a much better job of policing ourselves.

Just a quick thanks to those who replied to my inquiry, will try another email then follow up with the invoice idea once I figure out how to do that....lol!

Hey I just thought of something, due to HIS business being plastered on the side of the racebike, can he make the argument that I didn't have his authorization to take the photo's to begin with?
Or his permission to post them online?

Again thanks for any info!

Just to comment:

Considering the post on this page is non-commercial and to some extent educational, I'd say this could pretty much fall under fair use.

Fair use is a (C) violation defense, not a right.

Which works out in the same way to users.
