Get down on the dog's level, so you are not looking down on him. Eye level with the subject usually improves an image (rule of thumb).

^+1 shooting at the dog's level. Sometimes I will try shooting at the floor level to give different and interesting angle.

clone out top left corner, would have like to see the hole dog in a 8-13 aperture, the half bottom of the photo is not in focus, too much for my taste. Like the sharpness on the head.
