C&C is always welcome.

Today really emphasized that I need to find a way to get a media pass, security was being a real pain today. Did what I could do with where I could get. :o

They wouldn't let me stand next to the fences, I had to be 6ft away from them "for my safety" never mind that there were TWO cement walls between the track and said fence. Between the speeds the cars were going (at the most 100ish) and where I was standing (inside of a turn, fence was a good 100ft+ away from the track) it wasn't the least bit unsafe. It wasn't possible to shoot through the fence 6ft away and it was showing up in the pictures, and they were hovering around me making sure I stood 6ft away too, super annoying.

Having a media credential didn't really get you anywhere else you couldn't get to as a spectator...

As someone with a media pass there were only 4 places that you as a spectator couldn't go that I could, and they weren't that great.

It was the roof of the control and media building, the area between the pit building and the grid, the area on the north side of the jump on the infield side of the pit wall, and the photo/video holes in the safety fence between the track and the grandstands (only one good hole to shoot through).

If you had come on Friday you could have gotten onto the roof as a spectator....

All other locations were open to spectators. The only place that was exclusive to the media (meaning crew, workers, or VIPs couldn't also access it) was the north side of the infield jump between the infield and the pit wall.

You definitely did a very good job but trust me, the media pass wasn't really worth all that much...

I really wanted to get on the other side of the fence to the north of the jump, oh well.
