Not sure if this is the right place or not but I was just wondering where the best place to rent some gear would be.

I've looked at www.BorrowLenses.com (external link) and www.CameraLenseRentals.com (external link) and was just wondering if someone here had used them or if there were any other places that someone would suggest.

Thanks in advance!

I have no experience with either of those, but have nothing but great things to say about lensrentals.com.

lensrentals.com

This is a common question. You may want to try searching the forum next time before posting.

eBay lens rental

If I were needing a lens for a short time use, I would seriously consider purchasing a top-line (probably L because they hold their value so well) used lens on eBay, shooting for a while and then reselling it. You should not lose much if any money on the transaction.

This would be a great way to bulk up your lens battery if you were going to take an extended trip (like an African safari) wherein you needed specialty lenses, such as the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS.

If you charged the lens purchase to PayPal Credit, you might be able to buy, use and sell the lens before the first payment is due.

Please convince my wife of this please! :)
