Hey Guys, I am new here, but have been reading alot lately.

I have had a Canon Rebel (300D) for about 6 years now. It served its purpose well, but it has long been time for an upgrade. I just ordered a T2i with the 18-135mm lens. Was so excited about the deal I got, I sprung for the next day delivery. I am super excited about taking this new camera out. I hope to get in on the discussions soon and I know I will learn a lot here...

On a side note: Does anyone still carry a film body around. I have a Rebel 2000 that is in almost perfect condition. It was my first SLR so I can't make myself part with it, but I don't know what to do with it.

Photography is just a hobby for me.

Congrats on your new purchase. I'm sure you'll be amazed at the differences between your old body and your new one.

As for film, I had to sell all me film equipment to fund my digital stuff, but I bought a used Canon Elan 7 on Ebay about 2 years ago, thinking I would play with film every now and then. But then I started thinking about all the hassles of film that I didn't have with digital. Ordering the film (can't buy the good stuff at Walmart), sending it out for development (no one around here processes slide film anymore), bracketing exposures, etc. After it sat in my bag for a year with nary a roll put through it, I sold it.

take the batteries out and store it in a cool dry place.
You never know, you may want to use it "One More Time" for kicks. :)

Have fun with the new camera. I still have my 300D as well. I still use it for taking pictures, even
though I have several other bodies. The newer camera's all turn on faster, focus faster, and do a
ton of other things the 300D doesn't. But the 300D still takes great pictures when the lighting is
good :-)
